Pirate101 Interview- Anthony DeathBane

Ahoy pirates, it's Chris!
Today, we have a special surprise for you all- An interview with Anthony Deathbane!
If you didn't know, Anthony is known as Kaito on several sites, including on Legends of the Spiral and Stormgate Pirates, which he also manages.
Without further, uh..talking, here we go!
(N.B. The questions are in LIME and Anthony's responses are in AQUA)

1- When you first heard about the release of Pirate101, what were your thoughts as opposed to now, after actually being able to play through content?
Honestly, I was just really excited about everything. I used to have a blog where I would just blog about what I thought about Pirate101 (mostly just beta release guesses). I used to always go on the Pirate101 website and just read about all of the information they had to offer and I was always refreshing Captain Avery's twitter to see if there would be any "new news". I had a little obsession with Monquistans, even changed my twitter name to "Monquistan Fan". Once I got into beta, the game truly surprised me. I had big expectations for it since it was made by the best gaming company I have ever known, but it blew me away!

2- Can you tell us about your Pirate101 character, as well as your hobbies in the game?
My Pirate101 character name is Friendly Jack Maxwell, currently level 14, swashbuckler. (Picture attached) I'm a crowns member so I pay as I go. Jack wears the boochbeard bundle gear and the beta eyepatch. I think he's pretty cool. My hobbies.. well you know how much I like to make mazes! I'm actually making a maze right now called the Maxwell Maze and I'm planning to use it for some maze challenges. I just hope Pirate101 releases teleporters soon so I can add more houses to the maze, but the only house in the maze right now would be the Volcano Island. Another one of my hobbies is to tour the spiral in my ship and take pictures of the beautiful scenery.

3- Who is your favorite Pirate101 companion, and why?
Sarah Steele is my favorite companion, because she has a nice tone to her voice, very powerful, and isn't rude like some other companions *cough Bonnie Anne*. She's my first mate, loves to super hit, and when I click on her on my companion screen, she does not respond with "What do you want?" or "What now?", but instead with "Yes Captain!" or "Aye!".

4- Any features you'd like to see implemented in Pirate101 in the future?
My top 2 features I'd like to see in Pirate101 are teleporters and gifting. I would love to have teleporters because I am sure I will be buying more houses in the future and I would like teleporters so that I may connect my houses. I would also like to have the gifting feature so that I may gift my friends crown shop items if I am feeling generous, or they helped me with something, or I am hosting a party and someone won an even there, etc.

5- So, you're the co-owner and site manager of both Legends of the Spiral and Stormgate Pirates? How much hard work is it running these sites, and what is your favorite part about the jobs?
It is a lot of work actually. As the site manager, I have to create contests, come up with creative ideas so Legends (the amazing, creative, genius admin of LotS and SGP) can turn it into a new feature for the site, control the social media pages, choose and help the moderators, post on the homepage about new Wizard101 news, contest winners, etc, answer ques- ok so there are a lot of things I have to do. Yes, it can be a lot of work sometimes, but it is absolutely worth it! The goal of LotS and SGP is to provide entertainment and help to the Wizard101 and Pirate101 communities. Whether it be the cardmaker, comic maker, fiction, parties, riddles, mini games, etc. we want our members to have fun and meet new friends. The #1 job of the staff is to provide a positive atmosphere to LotS and SGP so that our members feel special, welcomed and happy to be in the community. Legends is the one who should receive the most credit though for creating the site and all of these amazing features. I also want to thank the mods who help keep the site safe and all with a positive attitude.

6- A lot of people know you as owner of the famous Deathbane Maze in Wizard101. What inspired you to make the maze, and have you considered making one in Pirate101?
I get this question a lot, and it is a very simple answer. I was bored, I was waiting for a new world to come out after Wysteria, and the first idea that came to my mind was a "maze". I had a death house with no items in it so I thought "might as well make us of it". When I was finished with the maze, I asked friends to port to test it out, and many liked it.. so more and more people started to come. Then I began to make more mazes, I even started to create maze challenges where you can win prizes from doing the maze. Now it is currently at 15 houses and very popular among wizards in the community. The maze was even featured on Wizard Weekly: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GbG7heDbtIs I am currently making a Pirate101 maze as said above. It's difficult to make a maze in Pirate101 because I am working with new furniture items, new houses, etc. but once I am finished I am definitely going to have a maze challenge where you can test it out and even win prizes!

7- Last, but certainly not least, llamas or alpacas?
Llama. Mostly because of the Llama song- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HbPDKHXWlLQ
